Nagiso - a long lost Japan, rediscovered

Situated on the scenic Nakasendo route, Nagiso is a town overflowing with deep history, fascinating culture, and beautiful nature.

Nagiso is located in south-western Nagano prefecture, at the southern tip of the Kiso Valley. 94% of the town is blanketed in thick forest, seven tenths of which is designated as national forest land.

The breathtaking Kiso River flows through the center of Nagiso, which is divided into seven different neighborhoods: Yogawa, Hokubu (Kakizore), Midono, Tsumago, Araragi, Hirose, and Tadachi.
