JR Central – Chūō Main Line: Nagiso Station
Nagiso Station is located on the JR Chūō Main Line. Some Limited Express Shinano trains, running between Nagoya and Nagano, stop here, providing convenient access both toward Nagoya and toward Matsumoto/Nagano. Because the line runs parallel to the historic Nakasendo, the train ride offers beautiful views of the Kiso Valley. All 11 post towns of Kiso can be reached by JR.
Station Facilities & Important Notes
-There are no elevators or escalators to the platforms. Access is by stairs only, so please allow extra time when moving through the station.
-There are no automatic ticket gates, and IC cards cannot be used at Nagiso Station.
-The ticket counter has one window and accepts cash only.
-Outside the ticket counter’s business hours, the station becomes unstaffed. Please board the train without a ticket and pay the fare at your destination station. Be sure to take a boarding ticket (整理券) before entering the platform.
*Nakatsugawa Station accepts credit card payments.
*IC cards are valid between Nakatsugawa and Nagoya.
*There are no money‑changing machines or shops inside the station.

Luggage Storage
-Coin lockers are available inside the station.
-Luggage storage service is also offered at Kyodo Mingei Ishikawa, located in front of the station.

Buses
Nagiso Station has bus stops for the Nagiso Town Community Bus and for Kita-ena Kotsu buses.
-The bus stops are located to the left of the station, down the stairs.
-Tickets for the Nagiso Town Community Bus can be purchased at the Ontake Kotsu Office near the bus stop, or you may pay the driver in cash when getting off.
-For Kita-ena Kotsu buses, please pay the driver in cash when getting off.

Taxis are available in front of Nagiso Station.

Parking
-Free parking lots are available on both sides of the station.
-No reservation is required, but please avoid parking for more than two days. For longer stays, use the Tenpaku Park free parking lot, about a 10‑minute walk from the station.
-Buses cannot enter the narrow station-front street. Please use the Tenpaku Park parking area.
